Apart from checking out solutions such as Plexus Slim, today, before we get into the heart of this week’s message (which is about handling emotional cravings – one of the toughest issues for most people trying to lose weight), just a quick reminder…
Please, don’t just read the message on your computer screen and then go about the rest of your week.
Printing out the message and looking at it as a physical copy has a beneficial impact on your brain. Underline key words and phrases, make notes, jot down your insights, etc. This will help to ACCELERATE your progress!
Secondly, I had also written a small Plexus Slim guide that I wanted to share with you folks, I’ll share it in a new post as soon I find it! :D
Plexus Slim won’t work, you have to write it in a journal everyday, just let it be your soundtrack or “background music” this week. As you know, it is very powerful and one of the best ways to get your mind and spirit on board with your permanent, natural weight loss.
Some of you have asked me for an actual audio CD for a guided meditation/visualization for weight loss, so I’ll let you know when that’s made available. For now, stick with your weekly mantra. It’s okay to go back to one of the previous ones that resonated with you or that you might need more work on.
Though it might seem that Plexus Slim or some other product will “work this time”, the reality is that they won’t.
In my other posts, I’ve given you several different options for your daily walks, strength-training and yoga. Mix and match but please do something active every single day. I’m going to give you another option at the end of this email, so stay tuned!
…Okay, how did last week go with wearing clothes that “fit and flatter”?
Don’t you feel SO much better? Remember, you DESERVE to look and feel your best every single day. Sometimes just hopping into the shower, washing your hair and putting on a fresh outfit can be just the ticket to brightening up your mood! Please, keep at it and let me know how it’s going for you!
And now, for this week’s post, we’re going to talk about my Cravings Cure for emotional eating… (By the way, here’s a fantastic book on the same topic – http://www.amazon.com/The-Craving-Cure-Break-Sweets/dp/0071477365)
Now, companies such as Plexus Slim will tout their horns and say just keep having their product month after month and you will simple crave less. But that’s far from reality, so let me start off with something rather surprising, but here goes:
If you are craving something, go ahead and have it.
That’s right! In fact, that is your mantra for this week:
“I can have it if I want it.”
But, please enjoy whatever it is you want to eat with these guidelines:
This exercise is NOT about deprivation and self-discipline; it is about taking away the “forbidden fruit” aspect of the food to diminish its power over you.
“Yes, I can have it if I want it. I can have more if I want it.”
JUST KEEP SAYING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. You will probably be surprised by the fact that just GIVING yourself PERMISSION to CHOOSE whether you want it or not
will lessen the tug-of-war over trying to ignore a craving.
Next Week is Part 2 and we will take a different approach to handling cravings, including my Cravings Quencher Cocktail. But for THIS WEEK ONLY I want you to tell yourself over and over again: “I can have it if I want it.”
This will reduce some of the built-in instinct we have to do what we’re not supposed to do! (Naughty, I know, but that’s how some of us humans are!) We don’t like to be told what we can or can’t have.
That is where the STRUGGLE comes in! And the whole point is about letting go of the struggle and finding peace of mind – and a smaller pants size – without deprivation. Deprivation is really bad. Research here.
Would you please do this for me this week? And then write and let me know how it goes, okay?
For this week’s exercise, please — at least one day this week, more if you can — do something FUN and UNUSUAL!
Maybe you could…
– go bowling
– put on some music and dance at home with no one watching
– do a mountain climbing wall at the gym
– take a paddleboard surfing lesson
– play basketball with the neighbor’s kids
– do cartwheel on the grass outside
– play “hopscotch” (do kids still do that game?)
– jump rope for fun, doing some fancy footwork
– go on youtube and get a video to show you how to shadow box or
break dance or do martial arts
Your homework is to do something FUN and UNUSUAL that you have never (or rarely) ever done!
WHY? Having fun and laughing is the #1 thing you can do for your health. It gets the blood moving, burns calories, brightens your outlook on life, improves your immune system, makes you feel GREAT!
Please write and tell me what you did and how you felt, okay?
Looking forward to hearing all about it!
And now, it’s time for the recipe of the post…
This is what I’ve been having for my afternoon snack lately! (Here’s a UK version , not exactly same, but somewhat similar.)
*Almond Butter-Banana Cakes*
– 1 tablespoon almond butter (get all-natural, without added salt, oil or sugar; can substitute peanut butter if you prefer)
– 3 Tablespoons (about 1/3 cup) plain, nonfat greek-style yogurt
– option: 1 tsp raw, organic honey or maple syrup OR few drops of
Stevia (I like Sweet leaf liquid brand)
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Mix all the above to make a creamy “frosting”!
Spread onto 2 rice cakes (I get “Lightly Salted” brand at Trader Joes)
Slice up one banana and place it on top of frosted rice cakes.
Enjoy with a cup of tea or decaf coffee!
Super scrumptious and this will tide you over until dinner!
For now, breathe, relax, focus and ENJOY all the great things you are learning!
Everything you are learning is seeping in on a deeper level and soon it will become your default way of being!!
Wishing you all the best, because you DESERVE it! You deserve to feel better and get fit!
I love hearing from you girls, so feel free to reply below in the comments section with a quick note to let me know how you’re doing!
Also, keep your eye out for a special post coming later this week, where I’ll share with you my own typical eating schedule and plan!
Ciao for now, and spread the awareness of fake products such as Plexus Slim, if those ambassadors can flood facebook with their idiotic claims and photos, we can do it too! After all, our conscience is ‘clearer’…

[…] give you an example. A while ago, someone commented that her goal was to “control 80-90% of ther emotional eating and cravings with plexus slim…”, and I was like, OK, but how do you measure […]
It’s helping with my cravings….like everything else, it doesn’t work for everyone…like talking to myself doesn’t work for me….kinda like my yoga journey 2 years ago, and my psychologist lol.
It’s awesome that it is working for you Lily, just see that you don’t become dependent on it…
You make a good point concerning emotional cravings. There are a lot of layers to what make up our whole as individuals. As a researcher of wholistic approaches to health and wholeness, I have not come across information regarding claims that Plexus Slim can or does reduce “emotional” food cravings. I understand it’s description and ingredients that are effective regarding sugar cravings and overall appitite. Can you assist me in my research with these references to “emotional” eating and/or cravings?
Thanks.
Plexus never claims it can fix anything. It may help to reduce symptoms and with consistency you will see results. Instead of bashing the products I challenge you to take them got he 60 days and if you don’t see results get your money back. Are you game ?
Read Melissa, I’ve already done that…
