Plexus Slim Dangerous – Really? Is It? Well… Let’s Find Out!

You may have been told that weight loss products have side effects, but shouldn’t you be aware how bad it can get?

Apparently, the company behind Plexus Slim, Plexus Worldwide, claims that it is harmless because most of its ingredients are natural.

This does not mean that there can be no side effects.

Natural ingredients too can react in different ways.

Apart from chromium there is no other ingredient in Plexus Slim that actually helps with weight loss.

In fact, chromium only helps in weight loss because it regulates hormones responsible for blood sugar and other body processes.

This causes the body to function normally and boosts metabolism due to which digestion is better.

Researchers Do Not Agree

But researchers in the United States and the U.K. have argued that the effect of chromium on body mass and weight loss is negligible and its presence in Plexus Slim does not primarily have much to do with reducing weight.

However, the body absorbs only the necessary (trace) amounts of chromium from the blood and the rest of it is expelled from the body.
Plexus slim

There are a few studies which have shown a connection between green coffee bean extract (in Plexus Slim) and weight loss, stating that this ingredient actually leads to an odd accumulation of fat in the body.

Though such studies have not been well supported by more evidence, it is difficult to say whether this ingredient is actually dangerous or not.

It is said that Plexus Slim helps in weight loss by reducing hunger after its consumption. But some consumers are of the opinion that it only makes one conscious about food portions and as a result the person eats lesser than before.

Other Dangerous Ingredients

Oxypregnane Steroidal Glycoside is one of the active ingredients in Plexus Slim whose main function is to suppress appetite. Thus an overdose of Plexus slim in one day would mean an overdose of this component.

An excess amount of this ingredient in the body has been linked to liver damage and subsequent liver failure, in a few cases.

Rosmarinic Acid (an extract of the rosemary plant) and Hydroxycinnamic acid are both plant chemicals which are the secondary ingredients in Plexus Slim.

Though Rosmarinic Acid is said to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it plays no specific role in weight loss. The same goes for the other ingredient too, except that it is only an extract and is of no use.

The high content of fiber in Plexus Slim from beetroot, grape and other plant extracts actually makes one feel full after consumption but can be a real problem if ingested in large quantities. It is suggested that one stick pack of Plexus Slim mixed with 600 ml water is the correct dosage.

That adds the required amount of soluble and insoluble fiber to the body. In order to speed up the weight loss if one tries to consume two stick packs a day, there are chances that it may lead to severe bloating and thus damage the gut (outer lining of the intestines).

Deadly Fiber In Plexus Slim

Due to the high fiber content in the drink, one must consume plenty of water throughout the day. 8 to 10 glasses of water is the ideal quantity even when not on the Plexus Slim program.

Fiber absorbs a lot of water to help healthy bowel movements. If one does not consume enough water along with Plexus Slim, in some cases it may lead to bowel movements becoming painful and difficult.

Consuming more than 30 grams of fiber per day may interfere with the body’s ability to absorb essential minerals such as iron, magnesium, calcium and zinc. An overdose of Plexus Slim in a single day with the aim of aiding quicker weight loss can lead to this problem.

Too much fiber can cause food to travel through the digestive tract so quickly that there is not ample time for minerals and vitamins to be absorbed through the intestinal walls. Bowel movements less than three times a week is a clear indication of constipation.
Plexus slim

Consulting a doctor is always the most important and sensible thing to do before starting a weight loss program that includes health drinks and diet pills.

According to them, no matter how natural any such product is claimed to be, a balanced diet and sufficient exercise always will get the first place.

So in case the doctor decides that Plexus Slim is not meant for someone, it is best to pay heed to that advice and save some trouble.

That’s that then!

  • Jen says:

I started this product a coupe weeks ago…the two times I’ve drank beer, were horrible experiences. First one, I projectial vomited, so much vomit with such force, had to “remodel” bathroom! I blamed it on the fact that it was keg beer. Second time, (no keg beer) and my stomach was so bloated, and uncomfortable, I couldn’t even sit, and had to go home early and guzzle pepto!
I can handle beer, been drinking it many years and have never felt that horrible or vomited like that…after reading about the not so sunny side of plexus I’m thinking that’s what did me in and it’s probably something I shouldn’t be taking!????

  • Jennifer says:

I did Plexus 2 years ago, had lots of energy, lost weight & felt great_ about 2 or 3 bowel movement a day…. just started back a month ago, & having Alot of constipation, bloating. I do drink over the recommended half your body weight thing with no improvement. I just wonder if they have changed something in it.

  • Karen says:

I started on Plexus Slim, Bio Cleanse, and Pro Bio 5 about a year ago (and became an non-selling ambassador just to get it cheaper) but wasn’t consistent until a couple months ago. Right after I first started I found out I have a bad valve in my heart. In January my heart damage was at a “1” and now it is a “2” as of testing one month ago. If I reach a “3” my heart will fail. Has anyone had any heart problems with Plexus?

  • April says:

I loved the plexus slim pink drink but after drinking it every day for a month my stomach began to burn terribly. Everything I would eat had a funny taste and I couldn’t seem to eat dairy products at all anymore. I stopped taking it and it took a long time before I could eat dairy again. It made me feel energized and much more alert but the side effects of the burning stomach were just too much to bear. I still do the probiotic but I have been going through 6 months of severe bloating now and I am wondering if it could be from the probiotic. I dont know what to do?

  • Maria says:

I gave Plexus a second try thinking maybe I wasn’t consistent enough the first time around. I again noticed the same adverse side effects. I ordered the Plexus Triplex with the Accelorator.

I experienced bloating and water weight. It did not surprise my appetite at all. As a matter of fact, I felt hungrier. I also feel less energy then before. I think it’s due to the yucky bloated feeling.

I really do not know whether it is dangerous or not. I feel like it works for some and not for others. I believe it depends on what your body’s deficiencies are.

For me, I do best with GNC products like a multi-vitamin without iron, triple strength fish oil and a good probiotic or Kefir. Sometimes a use a pre-workout supplement for energy only but it’s not necessary for weight loss. Good old fashioned diet and exercise is the key. I lost 40 pounds that way.

  • Kira Palm says:

I am on day 5 of the pink drink and day 2 of the Boi cleanse and I’m having rectal bleeding! Not ok. I am also constipated which I have never had an issue with.

  • Sol says:

Plexus actually made my stomach bloated really big and I drink lots of water made me constipated and even my clothes fits me tied so I’ve actually gotten bigger while drinking plexus
I exercise five days a week
And really I’ve never seen my self soooo bloated and I look so fat????
I will not buy this ever again
For me did not work ,but then everybody’s system is different maybe it’ll work for u

  • megan says:

Ok first off I am a plexus ambassador, I didn’t used to be but I chose to share the products because they DO WORK!

Just like most things yes to much of a so called “chemical ” can be dangerous. But do you know how much of a it you would really need for it to actually cause problems??? We have highly intelligent scientists and researchers who know what the body needs and set the safe amount that we need!

Another point… everybody’s body is different! I don’t know anyone who takes the products the same way. That’s what’s so great about our products, they’re so flexible for everyone’s lifestyle!

That’s why you need to partner with your sponsor to find out what is right for your body. It’s no different then when a doctor prescribes you medicine and you have issues with it, they may suggest you to take it at a different time or with food or whatever. We’re here to help, we care that’s why we share it! :)

  • Lynette Henk says:

I appreciate your review and I have to agree that I have concerns about the product. Liver damage can be serious. I think the best thing you can do is juice or find a way to increase antioxidants. I am doing the Xocai healthy chocolate protein shake. Their chocolate diet plan was actually featured on the cover of the Bariatrician, the medical journal for Bariatric Doctors along with the study that showed the average weight loss of 31 pounds in 12 weeks eating a high antioxidant healthy diet.

  • Emily says:

I’ve been drinking the slim for about a month and half, once a day. Ever since I started it I noticed how tired I get at about 1:00 in the afternoon everyday. I’m going to stop drinking it for a while and see if that helps.

  • Dawna says:

I have been on Plexus products for 6 months. I was having neuropothy in my feet , was 30lbs overweight. My husband a type two diabetic. Not only are we SOLD on the product, I have lost all my weight, feel no depression or anxiety issues. My husand is still on Block and Probio and Biocleanse. We both came off diet soda. He actually had to stop Slim because his weght loss was to good. If i wound back the clock 6 months i would say i dont regret our investment in our health for one minute. I like to say I’m very i objective. I truley can’t say we have anything but great results.

  • Javier Valdes says:

This is from my experience with Plexus. I took it on and off for a couple of months, but last month I decided to stick with it. I got my bag of Plexus Slim shakes at the start of August 2014. My mom used to be an ambassador for them but since she’s not a salesman she dropped out, so that is how I heard of it. Originally I ordered some to help her out. Anyway, come August 2014, I started taking it and I do one packet a day first thing in the morning before I eat anything and wait 30 mins before I eat anything after taking the shake. Anyway, about a week into it, I started getting severe diarrhea, and serious stomach aches and cramps and gas, which I figured it was the way it works, it gets rid of the nasty stuff in my body. Well, after a week of severe diarrhea, I continued on having it, but this time with blood. I was going to the bathroom at least 6 – 8 times a day. It is now August 21st, 2014 and I stopped taking Plexus slim Saturday August 16 and have not had it since and I am still dealing with severe diarrhea and blood. The stomach cramps have stopped, but now I’m starting to get a little worried. I’ve been to the bathroom at least 6 times today with nothing but serious diarrhea and some of it with blood. If it doesnt stop, I’m going to have to go to the doctor. So if you’re planning on taking this, please be careful because as you can see, it has it’s side effects. It did help me lose weight, but I think I can find a better product to help me lose weight without the severe diarrhea.

Hi! My daughter is 10 months old and breastfed. She has 3 jars of baby food a day and some snacks, though, so she only nurses about 3-5 times a day.

    • Kristy says:

I’ve been on Plexus since mid March and I love it. I was finally able to break my 155 plateau due to hypothyroid. I’ve lost 6 pounds and 18″ overall. • Xavier says:

I’d like to know how it makes me feel before I spend that kind of money on it.

  • Alex says:

I’ve been researching plexus slim and find it pretty fascinating. It’s all natural and contain things that help with insulin resistance (which I have) and fibro myalgia patients (also have) have noticed a huge different in their symptoms. I follow the testimonial page, but I want to hear what people have to say who aren’t selling it. What’s your HONEST opinion?

    • Plexus is poison says:

My honest opinion is that I took one trial package of it and I had severe bloating and cramping for four days accompanied by dark black bowel movements and horrible painful gas. NEVER AGAIN!

      • Plexus is not for me says:

I tried it too. I would feel nauseous after drinking the pink drink and ended up with a burning sensation in my stomach after only 3 days.

I stopped drinking it and now any time I eat I feel sick. I guess I will lose weight but this is not what I was expecting.

I have never has digestive problems before so now I am worried about the long lasting impact of my Plexus trial. My husband is taking it but has not had any of these side effects but has not lost any weight. I’ve lost 6 pounds in 3 days but at what cost??? I hope my body gets back to normal soon!
