Plexus Slim Ingredients List → Some Shady Things in There!

Are you not extremely cautious while trying out something new? Well, you are normal.

Plexus Slim is deemed to be a safe and effective way to lose weight by burning fat and not muscle. It is also a health drink which regulates the blood sugar levels along with reducing binge eating. As claimed by the company, almost all the ingredients of Plexus Slim are natural.

Chlorogenic Acid – A natural plant product used as an additive in most foods.

It is rich in antioxidants and is helps against inflammation and pain.

Citrin K – The herbal extract is obtained from the rind of the fruit of the Garcinia cambogia plant. It reduces the conversion of carbohydrates into stored fat by preventing certain enzyme processes.

Alpha Lipolic Acid –  Its main function is to help convert glucose (blood sugar) into energy. ALA is manufactured by the body and is found in small amounts in spinach, broccoli, peas, Brewer’s yeast, Brussels sprouts, rice bran and potatoes.

Studies have shown that alpha lipolic acid can help with the following conditions:

  1. Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
  2. Coronary Heart Disease
  3. Metabolic Syndrome (high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol)
  5. Peripheral Neuropathy (caused by diabetes and other conditions, such as Lyme disease, alcoholism, shingles, thyroid disease and kidney failure)
  6. Diabetes (improving glucose metabolism and helping diabetics utilize insulin better)
  7. Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer (increasing long-term survival)
  8. Impaired Brain Function (as a treatment for stroke and other brain disorders involving free radical damage, including Alzheimer’s disease)
  9. Effects of Aging (improving blood flow and enhancing immune function, restoring levels of glutathione, a protective antioxidant and detoxification compound)
  10. Chromium – A common ingredient in many weight loss foods, it helps provide blood sugar to cells and may increase sensitivity to insulin, potentially helping to curb cravings for sweets and carbohydrates. It is naturally found in broccoli, yeast and mushrooms.

Glycemic Index Maltodextrin – A natural sweetener that is found in potatoes and corn.

Citric Acid – Most commonly used as preservative, citric acid is good for clearing free radicals from the body, getting rid of kidney stones and helps to maintain acid levels in the body.

Beetroot Extract – Is responsible for healthy blood and normalizing the pH balance in the body. Beetroot is one of the richest sources of nitrates, folic acid and manganese. It contains trace amounts of amino acids including D amino acids and alpha amino acids. Since it is sweet, it also acts as a natural sweetener.

Grape Skin Extract is said to be useful to treat heart diseases such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

A natural sugar substitute called Stevia Extract.

Lo Han Extract – A natural sweetener, which does not elevate blood sugar and is obtained from the exotic Lo Han fruit. This fruit has several benefits out of which protecting the immune system, glands, digestive tract and respiratory system are the most important ones.

The Accelerator plus which is recommended to be used along Plexus Slim for added benefits contain vitamins and minerals such as Niacin, Vitamin B6, B 12, Calcium and Chromium.

The relevant ingredients in the proprietary blend of Accelerator Plus are the main ingredients responsible for weight loss, as claimed by research.

Yerba mate leaf extract is the first ingredient on the bottle’s list. The extract comes from the plan source and is very popular as beverage made by infusing the leaves in hot water. Yerba mate contains potassium, magnesium and caffeine and is said to have a relaxing effect on smooth muscle tissue.

Hordenine is a phytochemical that comes from barley. It is said to have a stimulating effect on the body.

Hawthorn, to some extent helps with serious heart conditions because it makes the heart pump better and thus could have some medical properties.

Green tea also contains other compounds such as theobromine and theophylline which have some structural similarities to caffeine. It therefore acts as a stimulant.

5 HTP is a compound with the scientific name 5-hydroxytryptophan. 5 HTP is derived from tryptophan, a non-essential amino acid that is naturally produced in our body every day and helps make a brain chemical called serotonin. Elevated serotonin levels appear to improve mood as well as reduce appetite.

Now with all these ingredients listed, the real questions are:

    <li>Are these ingredients safe?</li>

<li>Is an initial sample of under 100 people valid for a “clinical trial”?</li>

<li>Were these ingredients individually tested for the effects they are claimed for?</li>

<li>Who will claim responsibility in case some of the ingredients are suddenly proven unsafe in the near future?</li>

Now those are the questions I wish to ask Plexus Worlwide. I am sure I am not going to get any answer. And because I am not going to get any answer, I DO NOT recommend this “juice” to you folks, my readers.

So stay away from this, I wouldn’t stuff some chemicals just because they ‘seem’ to work. Sorry, doesn’t work that way for me. I prefer natural and 100% safe alternatives like working out, eating a balanced diet and doing some awesome yoga exercises!

Get in touch with me if you are excited about THAT!

  1. I have a beautiful friend who has just started taking this with her husband. They have also started to sell it. I am so scared for them as I am afraid they don’t realize what they are getting into. They call it Plexus Worldwide yet it is banned in two countries Canada and, Australia. It has also banned on Amazon, because of an ingredient in it that can cause a person to test positive for methinfedamins. I asked my friend about this and, she assured me this ingredient has been removed. That does not make me feel any better. What eles is in there that is going to cause problems next. Guess time to consult the Man upstairs and, ask for his protection over them.
Please people take the common sense advice here and, leave this stuff alone.

  2. This is a scam product. I lost 30# removing almost all sugar and dairy from my diet, eating farm to table food which is chemical free and organic, and exercising. Oh, and Stevia is a dangerous phony additive. Any “quack (pun intended) fix”, is just that folks!

  3. Why is the amount of ingredient never disclosed? For instance how much chromium is used in this product and so forth. Also curious about research results and long term effects.

  4. My names Rick James. Reply

Yeah so I found this by searching for a way to ruin my friends mojo.

From what I read you should clean house and bla bla bla. Be active! Hint 1:

my wife recently quit drinking soda all togethe. Poof there goes the extra weight.

They claim their product helps curve that craving for soda. Well maybe they don’t directly claim that but I read it in the comments somewhere.

I read claims this is all natural.
    Is Methylhexanamine all natural?

I see post after post on fb about how wonderful this product it. It may have some +’s but it may also have a ton of -‘s.

It may work for some and not for others. I think the last fb post I saw was it cured a mans hair loss. Um yeah I have my reserve thoughts.

  5. Curious to know who did the testing on the so called 100 people! Tested by them or did they hire and pay a third party! Has it been proven that those ingredients are really in the product! I’ve heard horror stories from a few people!

I totally agree with working out, eating healthy over a pill!

  6. NO ASPERTAME! Plexus isn’t in the business of harming people. It’s helping thousands everywhere get their health back on track. The reason some think it might taste bad is because it’s sweetened with all natural stevia. And what’s the point in writing this of you aren’t going to go the extra mile and ask corporate your questions? Guess what, THEY’LL ANSWER YOU.

And no matter how “balanced” diet is, all food has toxins because that’s the works we live in! Plexus flushes out the bad, reduces sugar craving and caffeine addiction and gives you more NATURAL energy so you can work out.

And hello, SEED EXTRACTS come from PLANTS which grow in the ground aka Natural. I guarantee your food choices have way more pesticides and toxins than you think plexus has.

  7. I have seen some life changes in family and friends. I am more about the inside health than watching the scale every second. I was very skeptical but soon became a believer. Plexus offers a full 60 day money back guarantee. It’s not a miracle quick fix. Chances are your weight or health problems didn’t come on overnight or even in a week. Don’t expect unreasonable results in a short amount of time. As far as wait and see when you stop using, we brush our teeth everyday. What would happen if you stopped brushing? Would your teeth and gums remain healthy?

    • No I don’t agree with you one bit Julie. Seriously, you are comparing brushing with Plexus?

One that cleans your teeth for couple of cents, and for months, versus something that’s made up of some random seed extracts and costs 100’s of $ every month? Not a very good comparison.

  8. There are many health professionals who are ambassadors and Plexus has health professionals on staff. Plexus encourages exercise and healthy eating.

If you want to lose weight fast, then plexus is not for you. If you are interested in a healthy lifestyle and natural supplement for vitamins and minerals currently missing in your diet, then maybe give it a try.

    • Seriously? You’re saying try Plexus at 100+ dollars every month for “vitamins and minerals”?? You can get like more than a year’s supply of ‘vitamins and minerals’ without the concoction!

    • Interesting to note that people spend lots of $$ on going to the gym but when they choose to spend it on supplements in addition, all of the sudden it is wrong?

  9. Thanks for the input. I think we Americans have gotten too lazy to figure out how to eat healthier and to exercise more!

I am 62 and hubby and I recently started playing Pickle Ball, love it…rids me of depression, am losing inches and actually eating less. What else can I say? …and I have low blood pressure already, if I took the stuff I’d probably be fainting all over the place!

  10. Maltodextrin is the main ingredient in Plexus

BEWARE – Maltodextrin is a group of complex sugars, rather than one carbohydrate. It ranges from more complex to less so and this depends on the method of production.

It is enzymatically produced from starch. The enzymes break the glucose chains in the starch molecules into shorter units, similar to the process of digestion in the human body.

Depending of how far this process is taken the product can vary from a non sweet starch to a sweet sugar composed of glucose molecules in short chains. It is not really useful as a sweetener, as it not sweet enough. It has a high glycemic index ranging from 85 to 105 so it should not be considered suitable for diabetics.

  11. Quit relying on chemicals and the government to do things for you. If the FDA approves something – I usually run away from it. All it means is someone had enough money to pay for that approval.
It’s mathematical – – 3500 calories = 1 pound. To lose or gain a pound you need to cut or increase your intake by 3500 calories. And what most people don’t do is exercise! Get up from your desk, couch, computer screen and go outside and do something…..ME INCLUDED! :)

  12. You should report on the scam from nutrimost. It’s a new expensive craze that’s robbing desperate people by claiming to be healthy.

  13. This stuff works awesome. I don’t sell it but I know some people who have had their lives changed because their body is finally working properly. Don’t be fooled. The government wants you to stay away from all natural products. The technology is out there and hidden from people. I KNOW this for a fact.

    • Ummm… so basically you’re saying the “government” is against Plexus? And, it’s a technology that the “government” is keeping you away from…?

      • Plague is natural. Smallpox is natural. Botulism is natural. Foxglove is natural, and lethal – though, in purified form, it is an effective (but still dangerous if mishandled) heart drug.
Natural doesn’t equal safe. And the if you really want a natural approach to weight control, wouldn’t a paleo diet with lots of vegetables and water, four to six hours of gentle exercise a day, and about 10 hours of sleep a night be the way to go? That’d be a lot more natural, and effective, than a pink drink never found in nature.

        • Good point Susan… but actually you do not even need 4-6 hours of exercise every day. The key is to balance your nutrition and activity by developing the most important thing… Habits.

    • How dumb. The government doesn’t care, it’s just that supplement companies can’t afford FDA approval. Why do you think prescription drugs are so expensive. Getting them through to FDA approval costs more than small companies can afford. you don’t have to believe me, but I know because I’m educated and work in pharmaceutical development. And I’m trying plexus because I have a problem with binge eating, chronic fatigue, and persistent GERD.

  14. I have a niece that is really pushing this stuff. After days & days of research, I wouldn’t take it if you gave it to me. Brings down sugar levels, Yes, brings down blood pressure, Yes, but the FDA has sent a warning letter to corporate claiming they are promising things that only prescription drugs can claim. Not to mention, it has DMAA in it. I will do it my old fashioned way, eat healthy, exercise and not go for the quick fix that could damage your heart or other organs.

    • Yes Wanda, The FDA did send plexus worldwide a notice to remove “hyped claims” in their ProBio (whatever) and other products. I should update the page with this too… :) Thanks for the info…

      • The FDA sends that letter to every company if they are promoting a product, it could be grapes, stating it cures treats or prevents disease. You can not make “drug claims” on anything other then prescription drugs, even if it’s true. Don’t be fooled by that letter. I have never tried it, but I have yet to see any ingredients that are toxic.

  15. Not to mention nealy ALL CORN & Potatoe based sugar gomes from GMO Corn & Potatoes; which is WHY everyone has metabolic syndrome in the 1st place!!

    • Actually, FDA sends a warning letter to companies that make false or misleading claims – ie making claims that a product will cure a disease or have a medical or clinical effect without any data from reviewed clinical trials to back up that claim. These letters are meant to protect the public from companies who will make claims just in order to make money.

If Plexus is so “proven” to work, then they should just submit their claims and data to the FDA for approval. And btw, you can submit your preliminary data and claims for free consultation from the FDA on how best to proceed with obtaining approval, so small companies can do this to.

  16. have been taking plexus for 6 months I have gained 15 pound back and I’m always sleepy and tired and I’ve heard that It’s dangerous if you take it and you don’t drink enough water just to let everyone know,

  17. I am worried that the people that are now taking this Pink Drink are giving it to their children/teens. What affects will Chromium have on them? Does it say anywhere on the Mix as to “How Much” of any ingredient is being taken? Too much Chromium affects Liver…doesn’t it? It’s a shame that FDA hasn’t gotten a hold of it to run studies and have them published in Medical Journals for all to see.

    • Exactly Mary! I am worried too, this is exactly like how Rofecoxib was prescribed for over 20 years EVEN AFTER KNOWING IT CAUSED SEVERE HEART PROBLEMS, but only when the bubble burst after 20 years, the company says “Oh, we didn’t know it caused that, maybe we should recheck our clinical trials, MAYBE it might have caused it!!” … and FYI, THE DRUG IS NOW BANNED IN 26 COUNTRIES NOW!

I am just worried this doesn’t happen with people using Plexus slim and related products.

      • Mary, I have been using Plexus Slim for 8 months. I had my Blood tests done before I started and I had it tested again in February. My ALT Liver enzymes are now in normal range after being extremely elevated for several years. My blood pressure is also in normal range now without medication. I attribute this to Plexus Slim.

        • Good for you Melissa,
It works for a small number of folks, you are lucky to be one of them… others don’t have such great experiences with it…

      • I’m glad it is working for you. My sister sells this stuff and is always praising it. She swears she is losing weight, but after a year, I can’t tell she’s lost any. Clothes sizes are still the same.

        • Betty,
That is an issue every diet delivers. The idea is to lose the weight, then figure out how to keep it off. Sometimes the weight loss alone is enough to motivate people to try harder to keep it off. There is no magic potion for that.

    • It does really work. Plexus is not just weight loss, it is a line of products that may (and i say may to satisfy the FDA) help you get healthy from the inside out. There are thousands of testimonies about how Plexus has helped different people to see and feel the difference in their well being. Gut health is very important in a person’s overall health.

  18. Is there any website or anything that just give you a diet and you lose weight because there’s loads of apps that you put in diets and it tells you how many calories…. i dont want that! but is there anything that will just tell me a diet And I follow it?
Please help me I’m trying to lose weight by July

  19. Has anyone tried using plexus slim to lose weight? How was your experience? How much did you lose? Do you know of anyone else who has used it?

    • Hi Aron,

I’ve been taking Plexus since mid May, 2015. I signed up as an Ambassador to get the products at a lower price. I have lost 16 pounds and 4 clothes sizes. I sleep better and I no longer have hip pain from bursitis or wrist pIn from carpal tunnel syndrome. I also no longer have nightly leg cramps or hot flashes. My husband is down two pants sizes. His skin is smoother and scars on his shins from a car accident are disappearing. So yes I’d say it works.

  20. Does Plexus slim really work? Ive gained some weight because of my birth control and ive been trying to loose it again. But i need help. Just need to know if this really works or not
also my husband wants to try this..does it work for men too?

  21. I’ve heard so many pros and hardly any cons about this extreme dieting product. I figured, ah well why not? I need to lose weight, so I decided to buy the product (and got a great deal; I got the whole pack JUST for $70).

Now, yesterday as of Mar. 26 2014 was my first day of the product. Yesterday, roundabout 12ish in the afternoon, I ate about two small bowls of pico de gallo, grabbed a bottle of water, took my teens multivitamin, multivitamin gummies, zyrtec (allergy medicine), zinc (helps to build immune system), and finished the water bottle. I then, grabbed another bottle of water, mixed it with plexus slim, and drank it with the two pills of Accelerator. Afterwards, I ran on the treadmill for 30 mins.

My question for you guys is,

Would this Plexus Slim still be just as effective along with taking my other pills?

  22. Hello everyone so I heard about this one product called plexus slim and have done a lot of research on it as well as reading tons reviews but don’t know from where to buy?? Anyone here an ambassador or know of one I can get my hands on this stuff ! Thank you

  23. I have just started taking Plexus slim. I have been taking the accelerator and the pink drink for 2 days. But it makes me feel sleepy. Why can’t we drink soda or coffee with this product?

    • You can drink soda and coffee. But the longer your on the slim your soda cravings will curb. If you drink coffee remember it is a dieretic and you should drink an extra glass of water for every glass of coffee. Most important for seeing results is drinking the water! Half your body weight a day. If your not an water drinker start out slow, work your way up to the full amount. Infusing water can also make it easier to drink, cucumber water is said to aid in weightloss.

      • I’ve never heard of anyone getting drowsy… but I would say to make sure you don’t have a caffeine sensitivity. The accelerator has caffeine. Also, caffeine will have an opposite effect (after a few hours) on someone with low adrenals. Research adrenal fatigue to make sure that’s not your problem. HTH!

  24. I’ve been taking Plexus Slim for 2 weeks. Not yet getting results. How long does it normally take before losing any weight?

  25. my cousin is interested in losing weight. Her friend mentioned plexus slim. However, I have no computer so I cant find too much information. I want to know what it is, how it works and where to buy it.

  26. I’ve been researching plexus slim an find it pretty fascinating. It’s all natural and contain things that help with insulin resistance (which I have) and fibro myalgia patients (also have) have noticed a huge different in their symptoms. I follow the testimonial page, but I want to hear what people have to say who aren’t selling it. What’s your HONEST opinion?

  27. I can’t find a place that sells weighted ones, and this normal one was already pretty expensive.
so will it still have the same result as the weighted hoops? How long do I have to do it for a day to see results?

    • I don’t sell it, but I tried pink drink to see if it would help with my prediabetes symptoms. The first three weeks I didn’t feel differently, but I was sleeping a lot better. Then, to my surprise, I had lost 10 pounds in that time. I wasn’t taking it for weight loss. It was a side effect :) week four I felt fantastic! More energy, better sleep, no harsh sugar cravings. The only drawback is the cost.

  28. I saw this ad for plexus slim and people say they have been losing up to 15lbs a month. Does lipozene really work or is it just another scamful diet pill?
