Plexus Slim Review 2014 – Dangerous. That’s What This Is!

Plexus Slim Reviews (UPDATED May 2018)

First of all, NO, I am NOT a Plexus ambassador.

So fortunately, on this page, you WILL NOT find a pitch so you can “contact me for more info”!

It’s ridiculous!

The whole Plexus Slim products and their MLM scheme.

And it’s 2018 for crying out loud. By now, someone should have exposed them.

But the number of Plexus “ambassadors” versus people who had horrid experience with it is highly skewed. That’s why you do not see any true reviews unless you hunt for hours.

Well, better late than never, so let us start by unearthing some of the ugly facts of this product and company.

What is Plexus Worldwide?

Plexus Worldwide is a company formed by a guy called David Brown. Originally, the company’ aim was to create products for the type II diabetics out there, to help them reduce blood sugar and reduce their dependency on insulin.

But when they realized that some ingenuous folks were experimenting with their products and using it to lose weight, they suddenly found out that the “weight loss market” was probably worth pretty much thousand times more than the diabetes market!

And lo and behold, they shifted their entire product line to target the obese folks!

Now they won’t even talk about diabetes on their website, or in their promotional material.

Shady? You decide.

What is Plexus Slim?

Plexus Slim is the company’s flagship product, a powder that you mix with water to create the (in)famous “pink drink” that’s supposed to curb your appetite and bring about dozens of other changes in your body.

Almost sounds like a miracle drink, nah?

It’s not, sorry for shattering the hope.

Plexus Slim is just a concoction of various ingredients which are speculated to help in losing weight.

There’s no unrefutable scientific proof behind any of the ingredients individually. The only “clinical studies” ever done are by the company itself! :S

Why Is Plexus Slim Dangerous?

Plexus Slim contains some ingredients that have been proven to be extremely dangerous in the long run.

Of great concern is the amount of chromium used in the pills. Chromium is a chemical that is often used to lower blood sugar.

Although a lower blood sugar level often translates to an increased rate of metabolism, it also means a less energetic person.

Some of the people taking plexus have found that their energy is greatly reduced, and while they may attribute this to the smaller portions of food, it is caused by the high chromium portion in the pills.

Another popular ingredient is “Citrin K”.

What? Never heard about it?

Of course you have!

Just that it’s called "Garcinia Cambogia" commercially. Garcinia scams have literally reached every household in the entire country (and moving fast to the rest of the world).

But, apart from all the hype, scientific studies have shown mixed results, all anyone can say is “MAYBE the stuff works”.

But in the real world, it hasn't shown any significant results. Or more simply - correlation does not imply causation.

On a scarier note, we DO NOT currently know what the long term effects of this stuff are. What I get from that is – your body doesn’t need it.

Major Problems with Plexus Slim

The drug has been known in extreme cases to causes intestinal and digestive problems such as severe constipation, nausea, vomiting (see the comments section below or see over 375+ comments here, some women have experienced horrendous side effects.).

Some of the users have developed issues ranging from problems digesting specific foods, to extreme cases where a complete shutdown of the digestive tract occurred.

Other problems include chronic diarrhea, which is reported by an increasing number of users with excess gas and increased dehydration.

Although many of the symptoms may seem manageable and not “serious”, continued exposure could lead to more serious problems and in fact may result in chronic illnesses.

Disadvantage of Plexus Slim

Unlike majority of the slimming shakes in the market, Plexus slim has been known to be extremely addictive. And that’s because of the caffeine content in it.

Although scientific research has not been done to determine what exactly causes the pink drink to be extremely addictive, although caffeine seems most likely, some users have reported extreme withdrawal symptoms and other problems, being almost unable to stop its use.

Furthermore, for those who actually succeed in stopping the use of the shake, the results (and those are rare) experienced during the periods they were taking the drink are more often than not nullified.

Weight gain is almost imminent once you stop, perhaps even greater and much harder to control once you stop Plexus Slim.

All in all, if you ask me, I would say that it is better to stay away from such “solutions” to get fitter, improve health or lose weight.

All my regular blog readers know that I myself lost over 62+ pounds without the ‘help’ of any Plexus products. And that is one of the major reasons I am still able to keep my weight off!

All these shakes will woo you like there’s no tomorrow, but once you stop taking them, it’s back to square one.

It’s like you have to get addicted to them if you want to “stay fit”… witty, isn't it?

Just think how much the company will earn from people like you who are completely dependent on it. Millions? Nope… more like billions!

Conclusion & A Ray Of Hope

It’s 2018, and I don’t see any honest Plexus Slim reviews even though the company’s been around for years.

That’s why I specifically titled this page: Plexus Slim Reviews 2014 (can’t believe it’s 2018 now and the page still holds true!).

Now, before you leave, what if I tell you...

- That you can improve your health, reduce a lot of your weight by adopting a few key habits...

- That you can keep the weight off, permanently, without depending on these shakes or some other pill.

Worth a million? Definitely.

So here's what you can do...

Back in 2008-09, after my second pregnancy, I gained a lot of weight, A LOT.

And like most of us here, I took the route all of us take with diet programs, spine breaking workouts, fat burner pills, and even tried one of those "ab gadgets".

A few things helped, but for a while, eventually failing and bringing me back to where I was.

I think almost 3 years of my life went like this!

And no, I didn’t suddenly stumble upon some “secret” (FYI there isn’t one).

Instead, in these 3 years, I learned (through a lot of failures) some of the MOST important behavior factors responsible for not only weight loss, but better health, a better mindset, more energy, and well, a better life.

Yep it sounds totally clichéd, but it is what it is. Discovering these simple (and free) things almost turned my entire life around.

It led me to Precision Nutrition where I completed their intensive Level 1 course, it led me to become a health coach, and it led me to become a mentor for so many women seeking to lose weight but having no idea (or confused with MANY ideas!) about losing their weight.

In fact, most of the women on this very page have mailed me saying:

  • 1
They have tried many diets just like me.
  • 2
Or have tried workout programs, belts, and even some shady gadgets.
  • 3
Some women who mail me actually suffer from serious issues like depression and anxiety attacks (and all because of their weight!).
  • 4
And yet there are those who have are so overwhelmed they don't even have a clue where to really begin.

And that led me to write down the EXACT steps I took back then (some were downright crazy!)...

So my suggestion to you is

  • If you are currently considering Plexus Slim (or any similar) product to lose weight.
  • Or if you have ‘been there and tried everything’ like me…
  • If you can’t do all those back breaking YouTube workouts...
  • And if you simply wish to get some REAL, what I call, “non-diet” and “non-workout” guidance…

Then COPY what I did ... the exact steps that changed me from this...

To this (62lb lighter)...

  • I have written the 3 simple things I did, the exact 3 steps I took...
  • I share it with everyone who seeks them here. No charge, no nonsense. This is my way of ‘giving back’ to my community. :)
  • The first step is behavioral (more of a realization), the second step is internal (it's something that sabotages us even when we do everything else right), and the third is a practical one you can start applying immediately in your life.

Today was my first day on plexus. I about passed out on my morning walk and I’ve had a migraine all day. I’ve never had a migraine, so I’m guessing. Ugh!

  • Zakk says:

This is a serious scam people. There is not a way to “cleanse” your body with BS stuff like this. Your liver does it naturally. Drink water and eat healthy and your body will take care of itself. This is a prime example of a company that takes advantage of the uneducated. STAY AWAY!!!

  • Mary says:

My daughter suffers from sever depression and the price of the pills her doctor prescribed was overwhelming and she had gained quite a bit of weight from them, (not to mention the insane amount of possible side effects – Nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, increased sweating, diarrhea, upset stomach, trouble sleeping, easy bruising/bleeding, muscle cramps/weakness, shaking (tremor), unusual weight loss ).

An old friend on FB contacted me about Plexus so I talked to my daughter about it and we thought we’d give it a try. We chucked out her pills and started her on ProBio5, BioCleanse, and Plexus Slim. A week into it she was incredibly moody and in physical pain from bloating. My FB friend said that was just her detoxing. Fast-forward a month – She wasn’t as bloated, but she was drinking those “pink drinks” like they were candy! I’d rather her be drinking soda than that crap! She still had excess weight and it wasn’t helping with her moodiness or suicidal thoughts.

I decided to stop buying Plexus and just stick to a good old-fashioned healthy diet to help her. PILLS ARE NOT THE WAY!

  • Proud Nana says:

I stopped using Slim because of having severe muscle and joint aches. I actually went to the doctor thinking I had a bad sprain to my ankle as I could hardly walk on it. That didn’t actually make sense to me because it was both ankles, both knees, and my wrists plus my fingers were stiff. In addition my muscles were constantly aching. I thought I was never going to get out of bed again if I kept taking it. My stomach was constantly bloated and upset. I figured that might be a transient problem that would go away in time.

I also used the ProBio5 which I figured would not be a problem because I had been taking a probiotic for over a year before that. I honestly didn’t feel bad before taking the Plexus products. I just wanted to lose weight and was not having much success. Probably because of not getting enough exercise really. There’s no magic pill for that except…Well….exercise.

I stopped the slim for a week and a half and my joint and muscle aches improved but my stomach did not improve. Those symptoms continued and I developed watery diarrhea 8-10 times a day. If I ate, I had diarrhea a few times. Sometimes even water and ginger ale upset my stomach and made my run for the bathroom.

After the joint and muscle symptoms went away I tried the slim again and the symptoms returned. I was going to just give up and ask for a refund but my supplier convinced me that it was all caused by yeast die-off and would right itself if I stayed on the products until the good-stuff started to happen. She suggested that I use half a dose of the Slim per day until my body got more used to it. That would slow the yeast die-off and cause fewer symptoms. That did not help for me so after a week of having the muscle and joint aches return and the continued belly pain and bowel issues I stopped and requested a refund.

On a side note, I do find it funny that they suggest that you take the products until the 60-day guarantee has run out before deciding. What good is a 60-day guarantee if the product takes 3-6 months to start working well. They should give you a 6-month money back guarantee if they are so certain of their products. Well, anyway, I did request a refund and I did not have to send the product back. I can’t in good conscience give it to anyone else though since I had such a hard time with it.

I still cannot eat without feeling ill. This is after an entire month of being off the Slim. Only water is occasionally a piece of fruit. Even things I would consider bland, the BRAT diet, do not agree with me. I have diarrhea alternating with constipation but not much in between. Sorry for TMI but my bowels do not empty all the way any longer so I feel the urge to “go” multiple times a day. I don’t want to go out at all. And my husband brought me a dozen crabs to pick but I can’t enjoy them. I’ll have to pick them and put them in the freezer for soup or crab cakes. Being an ex-Marylander, that makes me very sad.

My main question for you, Betty, after that long drawn-out comment, is will my stomach ever return to normal? Have I ruined my gut for the rest of my life?

BTW, I just today stopped taking the ProBio5 today thinking maybe there was something in there that didn’t agree with me. I took a Phillip’s probiotic or the Trubiotic before that and did not have a problem with my stomach.

Thanks for listening to my griping.

  • I just started and the reason I did is not real prof but a lady with six kids is involved with plexus so I joined and now I read this and something said no ! I did not lesion to my gut feelings ! I think it’s addictive too . Because my brain was starving for it after just a few times taking the pink power ?

    • Judith says:

I was convinced to take the slim the probio5 and the other one….I never took the slim but maybe a few sips but I did take most of the bottle of probio 5 and I had the worst acid reflux I have ever had in my life I told the girl who got me taking it and she said oh yeah it will quit it’s killing the bad bacteria it takes a couple weeks I said I have been taking it for a month and of course I am leary of these companies anyhow so I quit taking any of it and my stomach isn’t perfect and I had some acid reflux before but for the most part it has gone away …I will not touch it again. I have been a shaklee supplement user for years and never had any of their products do this. I pray you feel better

    • Loren says:

      Was her name Kim?

  • awills says:

I didn’t see any need for buying Plexus Pink, so I just bought the ProBio5 and BioCleanse from my friend to aid with constipation.

I felt pretty awful in the beginning…major gas and bloating and diarrhea multiple times per day. I was told this was because the probiotics were working, doing there thing to cleanse my gut of bad bacteria.

After about 4 months of this and taking less and less of the BioCleanse, I decided to stop the BioCleanse altogether, which helped stop all of the problems above. I then took about 6 capsules of the ProBio5 daily, which was the only way I saw improvement with constipation.

But the stuff is so expensive, I couldn’t afford to buy a new bottle every 3 weeks.

I have since discontinued the product and began taking a magnesium supplement and eating more fiber, drinking more water and voila! I’m doing good. And I’m not spending as much money.

So, in short, the ProBio5 works if you’re willing to spend a fortune on it monthly but there are other cheaper and healthy alternatives. But try telling that to anyone who sells it.

  • Jessica Gibson says:

I went off of Plexus after 5 months because I felt nothing and didn’t lose weight and my body broke out in a rash and I became feverish. I’m just eating good old fashioned plant based diet and drinking fiber and I’ve lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks.

  • Jones says:

I took one bio cleanse and four days later I ended up in the hospital. Extreme dehydration and the Dr said this product is not regulated so each capsule could have more of something or less.
I’m still dealing with not making it to the bathroom and soiling myself.

I went from Constipation to water runs. I will never take anything plexus has to offer.
Also tried to leave a review on the plexus web page and submitted it. My review does not show up. Now I see that you will never see honest reviews from this company. Someone should be answering for the negative effects bc they are hiding the truth.

I hope that there will be a lawsuit to stop them from selling anything ever again.

  • Molly says:

I have been using the Probio 5 and the Biocleanse for 2 months now and it works very well for me. I have suffered from constipation for many years now and once I started taking these supplements I have never had a problem with constipation again. I have tried the slim. Though I don’t think its for me I can’t say that it doesn’t work. Every person is different.

  • Irish zest says:

I’ve just been in the triplex for a week now. Sometimes I’m not hungry at all, sometimes very hungry, especially for salty or meaty meals. I don’t use salt in my own cooking ever. The last few days I’ve blasted the toilet nearly 5 times a day, and believe me that toilet is getting a workout !! My feeling so far is that you are gonna shit that weight off using this product. Literally, you are gonna poop your way to a slimmer person. I’ve see. This in the people that begrudgingly talked me in to trying this product. It’s too soon for me to endorse this product or condemn it yet. I’ll let ya know in a few more weeks.

  • Missy says:

I purchased the Slim, BioCleanse, and ProBio5 for my son. He suffered from chronic DAILY migraines. After trying all of the prescription medicines for migraines ordered by his specialist, none worked. The Plexus products above reduced his DAILY migraines down to 1 to 2 a week. His pain scale has gone from 8-9 to 6. I appreciate your opinion, but it is working for my son. He is able to enjoy life again and engage with his friends and family.

    • Betty says:

      Hi Missy,
If it DID work, then definitely continue. What I would further suggest to you is try to find more info on the ingredients mentioned in the products. Chances are that he’s getting the desired effect by one of it by chance. If you can find it out, you don’t need to purchase this heavily overpriced stuff and go for generic ones.

On the other hand, are you VERY sure that this is not a placebo effect as it is down from 8-9 to 6, not 2…

    • Matt Farmer says:

      Missy,

I suffered from migraines and it was due to MSG and its derivatives like soy protein isolate, hydrolized soy protein etc. …

It’s in most prepared foods. Check his diet and remove those. Night and day difference.

  • Donna Walters says:

MLM schemes are irritating and usually go away with time.

I don’t take supplements or drink miracle drinks from anyone. With Chrohn’s disease (although I am lucky enough to manage mine with diet now)- supplements are not an option.

Try telling that to someone who has been sucked into the Plexus craze!!! I usually get told Plexus is great for people with Chrohn’s or any other auto immune diseases. Don’t do it, eat healthy, excercise and rest!!! It works.

  • Kay bowerd says:

Have you heard of women getting hard lumps and very painful breasts? I have been on it a little over a week and the two seemed to started together. I do not have mental cycles, but have not gone through menopause. I have read there is very little caffine in it? Do you have any insight?

    • Betty says:

Whoaa! That should be investigated like ASAP Kay. No excuses, just go and get it checked and STOP the plexus products right now.

    • CJ says:

I just went to the doctor with a ruptured cyst on my breast. Sounds like you might have been dealing with the same thing.

Since I have breast cancer in my family he did a sonogram to double check and there was no cancer (thank the Lord!). He told me to stay away from caffeine.

The only thing different in my diet lately has been the Triplex. After reading this I am pretty sure I know where that extra caffeine intake came from. I’m throwing mine out too & getting my money back. Best of luck to you.

  • Laura Mercado says:

I tried the triplex; pink drink, probio-5 and bioclense.

I took it for about a month. I felt very full and almost nauseous immediately after taking it, which in turn suppressed my appetite. I felt a little under the weather, almost like I was getting sick, but thought I must be coming down with something.

My ambassador told me that it was candida die off and that it was a great thing that I was feeling that way. I had lost 1 lb. after 2 1/2 weeks or so. Throughout the next several weeks of taking the products, I felt worse.

I started to feel incredibly tired and couldn’t stay away through the day, I started breaking out in a rash all down my legs, chest and abdomen. I also began to feel very achy through my shoulders. My ambassador assured me once again, this are all the toxins in my body trying to get out. I should continue. She said that I probably wasn’t drinking enough water or maybe my liver function wasn’t great.

She then advised me to start taking other supplements to help liver function.

After 1 month of taking the supplement and feeling horrible, I stepped on the scale and found I had gained 4 1/2 lbs. ! I am a Registered Dietitian and Personal trainer, I eat clean and workout regularly every day. How am I gaining weight?? I called the ambassador and again she blamed the die off symptoms.

I discontinued the products immediately and called the company for a refund. I refuse to believe that you must feel worse to fee better. Of course, they were upset with me for discontinuing and challenged all my reasons for stopping. I wanted to make this comment today, to hopefully help someone out there taking the products and feeling bad. Diet; whole foods and exercise is the key.

Gut health is very important, but can be attained with food; omega 3, fruits and vegetables, fermented foods and low intake of processed.

    • Carrie Smith says:

Thank you for your comment. This is EXACTLY how I’m feeling. At first I felt wonderful! But now 1 month in I’m feeling just like what you described. I jumped in full bore. Sold it and everything! Now I’m going to get a refund and steer clear of it. Thanks again!

  • Gloria says:

I just purchased the “triplex” and took my second dose of the probiotic tonight. I am in SEVERE pain. No more Plexus anything for me.

  • Sally says:

Interesting. I have had no problems with it but I am first to say that not every supplement is for every person. We are all unique in our make and it is ridiculous to think differently. I hope you all find something that works for you as well as Plexus products have worked for me.

  • Rebecca Gildner-Nelson says:

Thank you for being a voice out there backing up those of us who haven’t had the success story with plexus. I try a product and have side effects (I have 6dif diagnosis going on) and my “supplier” has some reason why it didn’t work and it always seems to be because I DID SOMETHJNG WRONG. Ugh so frustrating!!

  • Pam says:

Thank you!!! I have had IBS for almost 10 years. It got really bad about 6 months ago. I have been bombarded with Plexus miracle reviews and FB posts about unhealthy gut and considered trying it. But not since I read your review!! Ive always said there is no magic drink or pill. It’s learning to eat well and exercise that is the best way!!

    • Betty says:

      Hi Pam,
And the really bad thing these days (decades?) is that we’ve been accustomed to more and more ‘speed’ in everything. Instant fulfillment is the need of the day. Yet, that simply is not how our body works. Patience and perseverance can never be replaces by ‘products’.

    • Kristen says:

I also have IBS and the only way I control my flares is diet. I cut out trigger foods (caffeine and carbonated drinks). These “wellness” companies with supplements and diet scams are infuriating.

  • jayla says:

Were you expelled from Plexus because of dishonest practices?

  • Ashley says:

Here is one definition of candida die off – pay particular attention to the last sentence. This description is not about Plexus in any way, but in reference to Plexus – watch out!!!
Candida die off symptoms are devastating: brain fog, fever, depression, joint and muscle pain, headache, bloating, constipation, fatigue, yeast infections, acne and many other discomforts. A common misconception about candida die off symptoms is that having them is a sign that the treatment is working.

  • mouse says:

I used to drink the plexus shakes. They made me so sick! Nausea. Sweating. Shaking. It was horrible! After I got rid of them I ended up buying the block. It says to take two. Two makes me sick so I only take one. After I started taking them I started having chest pain. I’m not saying it’s related but definitely suspicious. None of my doctor’s could tell me if plexus was safe.

    • Rebecca Gildner-Nelson says:

Oh my gosh!!! I was just told this TODAY!! I have UC and has a flare up when I tried the pro bio cleanse. My supplier said I needed to stick with it for 6mo because candida flushing is causing my symptoms and I will feel worse before I feel better and actually said I will experience the list you stated above! I ignored her! I’m tired of. Wing at fault for my own illnesses !

  • a says:

this stuff is dangerous. It’s basically a company making $$$ off of what should be medically prescribed products.

I am a super healthy, slightly underweight individual who tried the probio5 at the advice of a friend to help with sleep and “gut health” For 2 months I have been in and out of the doctor thinking I had the flu.

I got bronchitis, had chronic headaches, extreme constipation (was regular before) and lost weight (good right? not 4 lbs in a week because you are sick)

I have been off the probiotics for 1 full week and feel like myself for the first time since I started them. My advice: Do not start this product without consulting your doctor and please notice this RED FLAG – no side effects or warnings on their labels! Who does that!?

  • Mike says:

To all of you shouting SCAM. Please provide me your business experience and just for fun what other things in this world you consider a SCAM. I’m curious to look through your eyes.

    • Betty says:

You don’t need “business experience” to call something a scam.

The definition of scam = A fraudulent scheme performed by a dishonest individual, group, or company in an attempt obtain money or something else of value.

People here think that Plexus is a scam because it promises wonders in exchange for money.

In about 80% of all buyers, forget wonders, they suffer from horrible side-effects.

Why then should they not call this a scam?

And don’t try to look through someone else’s eyes because you have already made up your mind.

    • Louise says:

I have all of the same symptoms only 6 weeks on this product!

      • Betty says:

The worst part is if you tell this to your ambassador, you’ll either be forced to buy more of their products, or be told “you’re detoxing!”…

    • TCarey says:

Oh my gosh…thank you for your comment! I’ve had bronchitis and been generally sick/cold/flu-ish for the past month. I’m 53 and have been sick for this long. I am also slightly constipated, which has NEVER a problem for me. I’m a big fresh fruit and veggie eater so I stay pretty regular. I started to wonder about the timing with my ProBio5 order and it just about fits. Thank you so much for helping me connect the dots.

  • Max says:

My sister and brother in law were involved in Plexus big time. Diamond Ambassadors or something like that. My sister had already dropped to working only a couple days a week. They both were ready to quit their day jobs and devote all their time to recruiting. They have always fallen into these get rich pyramid schemes with unreal expectations of overnight wealth.

They even conned my 80 yo parents to each signed up as ambassadors plus had both of them convinced that Plexus products was the cure for everything. My parents were spending around five hundred of dollars a month on Plexus products.

I never fell for it. Seriously, $40 for a bottle of icy hot. I found it all ridiculous. I never tried any of it despite the constant sales pressure from my family.

One day, every mention of Plexus was removed from her FB page. She stopped using Plexus Slim, the bio cleanse and all the other ingestible Plexus products she was taking. She took the signs off the sides and windows of her car. The signs were removed from her husbands truck too. They made no mention of this.

Finally one day I asked her. She told me that her husband was still doing it but she had a change of heart and that the market was getting saturated. I know that is what eventually happens with MLM but I thought this was strange. Her ceasing Plexus was an abrupt full stop.

Eventually I found out that she had a severe imbalance in her body which was rather serious. She has been going to a Dr for some sort of injection treatment and hormone therapy for almost two years. I’m convinced that it was all the Plexus Slim, the accelerator, boost, plus the numerous other Plexus crap she was doing.

  • Debbie says:

Okay, here’s the deal-eo. Not just Plexus, Dr. Axe, Ty Bollinger etc have identified the mysterious increase in problems in today’s population, showing up especially in younger woman of reproductive age or younger is an identifiable problem. Unusual, what is causing it?

Could be vaccines, could be vaccines and toxins from all the pesticides (especially roundup – glyphosate), depleted soil so therefore we receive less nutrients and minerals through our foods, even organic, so a situation today of depleted minerals and nutrients..

This is a verifiable fact if u do your research. We have 2 choices. Take the medications the doctors prescribe, which generally means seeing the GP, for something as simple as low iron chronically, being referred to a specialist. Specialist identifies low iron, but can’t say why — take iron pills or get infusions.

Sometimes this pathway to help includes a naturopathic doctor as our feeling is they’re more in tune with the nutritional side of disease. But they come up from the blood work sometimes too with a vague answer — try electrolytes, try iron (I know I’ve been this path with a younger daughter in her teens). None of them ever identified gut health and poor flora that can’t deal with all the toxins stored in the body and overloading the liver.

Does Big Pharma in a sense have a monopoly? Yes. Despite all these drugs is cancer really being beaten — no. In fact chemo and radiation are known toxins to the body — they kill the good and the bad.

  • Tanya Bostick says:

Guess who has had phenomenally horrendous periods and could not live a normal life? THIS GIRL! Guess who took the Plexus Triplex and not only gained the 28 day cycle with no heavy days? THIS GIRL! Guess who no longer has carpel tunnel or ganglion cysts? THIS GIRL! Guess who has two young children, a full time job as a Music Teacher with a full Instrumental and Vocal Program, and a thriving business? THIS GIRL!

    • Betty says:

So you mean to see Plexus “cured” your life and gave you a thriving business? Nice.

    • Dorcas says:

For low iron just go online or to a local health food store and buy desiccated liver tablets. They absorb well in the body because it’s all natural and doesn’t cause constipation. A friend of mine finally started taking them and has had no more transfusions or anemia.

    • Tracey says:

Bahahahaha! I’m suppose to believe that caffeine cured your carpal tunnel?

    • NA says:

Couldn’t sound more sales pitched if you tried!…stop misleading people! So so wrong….just prove your product works through scientific research and that should speak for itself.

What a horrible joke Plexus is. Not a single R.D., MD, Nutritionist, Fitness expert, nor celebrity supports this MLM product that targets stay at home Christian moms. Vague ingredients, it’s practically a placebo. This pyramid needs to go down. The “Ambassador ” title is a joke some lady getting a free car because she’s conned her friends into buying this bogus product . Spread the word, PLEXUS IS A SCAM

  • Julie says:

I am stopping the products right now. Wow! I have never felt so awful in my life. Chronic diarrhea, stomach pain, bloating, and my “ambassador” says that it’s just the “die off.” I’m a nurse and this does not seem right. I am set to see my doctor tomorrow to figure out if there is something else going on, but from what I am reading, this stuff is harmful and likely the cause of my issues. Luckily, I’ve only been taking it for a little over a month, so hopefully, nothing that can’t be fixed.

  • Sandra Bon says:

MY grandma in Alaska sells Plexus and puts some of her customers up on facebook.

She herself is at least 50 lbs overweight so if she takes it, it is not working for her. Also she enlisted her mother, my daughter who is 59 to be a distributor.

She also weighs about 50 lbs over her best weight. I came her to see what the products really is and I was right all along.

  • Danica Trebel says:

I’m always amazed at how easy it is for people to take things at “face value” without doing any real research of their own.

(BTW — Google is a SEARCH engine…not a RESEARCH engine.) While I certainly can’t deny there are enough companies out there lacking integrity, we really do have to keep in mind that in any business — network marketing, grocery store, bank, restaurant, whatever — there are going to be people who have bad experiences and blame the business rather than the person representing the business.

I’ve also found too that when people in network marketing bash other products or companies it’s because that person is a rep for a “competitor.”

It’s so disheartening when people have to resort to slander instead of just sharing positive information about health and healing.

If people would just do their RESEARCH they’d find that healing the gut is one of the MOST IMPORTANT things we can to to begin to heal 39 different diseases (including autoimmune) and 12 types of cancer. (RESEARCH Dr. Don Colbert who is the source of this statistic.) And yes, depending on someone’s diet and current state of health, releasing toxins can and will make you feel sick. It’s no different than getting headaches after cutting out caffeine.

Please folks, take the time to find things out for yourself. YOU ARE WORTH IT!

We are, what makes you think we are not? Peer reviewed science is what we are looking for. If Plexus was so amazing, why isn’t the science community who spend their lives trying to understand how to improve our health not saying: look! Check out Plexus…they figured it out! Please take your advice…go read. Investigate: outside of the plexus bubble.

  • Sienna says:

I’ve been taking Plexus slim for 1 week. After the first two days of it I went through a horrible episode where I could barley stand up from being so sore and a terrible headache. It felt like severe dehydration and I’m sure it was and caused from Plexus.

I almost passed out in the shower and my husband had to make me some jelly toast to bring my blood sugar back up. My spinal column aches from the base of my skull to my tail bone along with my hamstrings.

This was an immediate side effect and I’ve been told repeatedly that it’s the “candida die off” in my body and that it will stop after a few days or a few weeks.

This is from my friends “up line.” I finally asked her what an up line was and if it were medical people (knowing full well it wasn’t) and she said that it was a girl with a lot of experience who was pregnant and has been doing it over a year. Sorry but 1 year is not ANY experience and I can’t believe someone would take this pregnant!

Thank you for writing this blog. From day one, I knew this was something I shouldn’t do.

I’m usually totally against this stuff and try to live an extremely healthy lifestyle. I can’t believe I fell for it and I’m embarrassed. Been taking it 5 days and went from 155 to 150. It’s working, but I don’t want it to happen like this.

Time to put my running shoes back on!

When I stopped ,with in a few days.My TMJ started , muscles were hard in the neck area, headaches , teeth hurt -believe that was from acidity in the stomach that caused bloat.I am glad I read this site.I already have stomach meds for acid- Believe this has led me to be sick.Im depressed and tired as well-day 6 off of it.Almost feel I need more to feel better.very odd to me..esp the muscles nervous system withdrawl.

  • Avery Guenther says:

Thank you for this review!! I started plexus and OH it was amazing!!!

The change in me was fabulous. Then guess what? They changed the product. Not once but many times. They were not honest at all about the changes. They are a shady company and they hurt people.

I built a team of 10 , not one of us lost weight in 12 months. Then for a year and a half after I was SO sick. My digestive system was screwed up bad. it took 3 years and a lot of tests to figure it out. I have tried to warn people but It is hard.

  • Rochelle says:

My neighbor is a Plexus ambassador and very high up in the company.

Tried numerous times to get me to try the product.

Wanting to support her business I decided to give it a try. I first tried the pink Drink and immediately after drinking it I felt I did not feel right at all has anxiety increased heart rate and nausea of course I would never take this again. When she wanted to know what you thought I told her the truth she tried convincing me a nurse that I was just getting the bad things out of my body.

Why do people think they have to feel horrible to be getting better… I’m sorry but you need to listen to your body and do not take things that make you feel horrible. Needless to say since then our relationship has went downhill. Because I do not take plexus she has ruled me out of her life.

Also none of these ambassadors have any training whatsoever in the medical field and it is very scary that they are telling people that all of this stuff is perfectly fine to take with any medication or if you have any underlying illness or disease. The sad thing is 3 months after her very good friend started the plexus journey she was found dead at the age of 38… her response was that she was starting to get so much better…. she was starting to lose weight plexus was helping her.

Her family blames plexus and so do I.

But there is little that they can do to prove as the autopsy showed inconclusive. I’m sorry but you just don’t die at that age 3 months after starting supplements! WAKE UP PEOPLE! IT’S TIME TO GET EDUCATED!

Oh and our other neighbor directly down the street started plexus a couple years ago under her and she is diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer at age 41! Could it be related? The world will never know and it’s horrible…

    • Ruth says:

Oh wow :( I took it for 8 months and became very ill on it. I had severe constipation. I was depressed to the point of being suicidal. It’s about a year since I stopped and my digestive system is still off. Loath the day I started that crap. My digestive system seems to be slowly improving but so not what it used to be :(

  • Sally Malm says:

I made a big mistake when I decided to use Plexus Slim. After 3 weeks, I could no longer hold my urine. I consulted with my naturopath who told me that the chlorigenic acid can cause bladder damage.

It took a full 2 months of flushing with water to get it out of my system and get my bladder operating.

It is still not at 100%. If you want to risk damaging your bladder (think about depends….that’s what I had to use) to lose weight easily, go for it.

Just know that the risk is there and your Plexus salesperson is not going to warn you. Neither is Plexus Worldwide. They know the risks but they are making too much money to care.

  • Haley says:

These products are horrific. Im 19 and struggle from an autoimmune disease.

I started these products thinking they could give me more energy, reduce my inflammation, and cleanse my body of toxins.

The salesman said they were all natural and wouldn’t interfere with other medications. But what the ambassador didn’t tell me was that it would lower my blood sugar drastically which caused even more fatigue, sugar cravings, pale gums, nightmares, and depression like symptoms.

It should be a crime to market products under false pretenses to somebody who is already ill. Shame on them.

  • Suzanne says:

I didn’t lose one pound on plexus. So I didn’t gain any when I stopped. I took it over a year. The pink drink. Now I have inflammation of the stomach and gastritis. I did not find it to be addictive at all nor did it control cravings.

    • Ruth says:

I was also on antidepressants and It severely clashed with my medication. I became suicidal.

And all I’m told is stick it out!?! It’s just detox?!

Honestly so angry now knowing what I do about plexus and what it’s done to me.

  • Cindy says:

Like any of the “supplements” out there, they promise miracles. No one wants to do the work required to be healthy and fit. Ingesting unknowns into your body is not the answer. Any diet that requires you to eliminate food from it will not work, you cannot drink supplements forever and you have to get back to eating. Try this – free advice. Eat foods with no more than 3 ingredients – that means cut out processed foods. Cook clean, healthy meals which you eat in specified portions and move your body. Without any scientific, lab rat analysis, I guarantee, without a doubt you will lose weight, feel better and be stronger, healthier and more energized. But, don’t take my word for it, try it for 3 weeks and see the results for yourself. Then, keep it up forever. You are welcome!

  • Jennifer Johnson says:

I want to be skinny forever

    • Karie says:

I agree with your advice. I do want to point out that the pink drink is not designed to be a meal replacement. It is not clear to me if that is how many of these complainers are using it. Of course you will get dizzy and weak if you are not eating regular meals!
I am neither a critic or a supporter of Plexus. I’ve used it, and don’t feel it is all its cracked up to be. I don’t believe I have suffered withdrawls, but I will say, that the sugar cravings came back with a vengence when I stopped taking it. Some thing to note and be aware of. I would use caution.
Pink Drink aside, the probiotic is good and the cleanse seems to work.

  • alba says:

I’m thoroughly enjoying reading this… I could have all the reasons to start taking this product, mother of 4 with an infant of 5 months that doesn’t sleep through the night. I have very little energy.

I also have a 6 years daughter with serious bowels problems. I don’t know that much of the product, but I don’t need to. I have seen friends on Facebook going crazy. For what I have observe, I can say it is addictive, these gals starter to acted crazy, from being shy people to go all loud and about this Plexus pink juice that heals all your body and fix all your problem in life.

The ingredients claimed to be all natural, and maybe that’s right, but so are Marijuana, Poppy seeds and even Cocaine (although some of these require cooking).

Thank you Betty for posting this, love the question you made: how long are you planning to use this product? Yes, it might help you boost your energy and get the things in your body to work properly, but same thing are doing the steroids my daughter is taking, but when she stopped the treatment she goes back to where she were.
